What we carry
- Blood & serum samples — whole blood, serum, plasma and serology tubes moved between collection point and analysing laboratory, carried upright and logged from pickup to delivery.
- Tissue & histopathology — biopsies, surgical specimens and histology material, transported with the fixation and temperature conditions your pathology lab specifies.
- Pathology & laboratory specimens — microbiology, cytology, swabs, cultures and general laboratory work, as single collections or full daily rounds.
- Time-critical & chain-of-custody consignments — where the clock or the paper trail is the constraint, with custody recorded at collection and at handover.

- How are medical samples packaged? Category B biological substances travel in UN3373 packaging built to the requirements set out in the IATA and ADR standards: a leak-resistant primary container, absorbent material, a rigid secondary layer, and correct UN3373 marking and labelling on the outer packaging. We can supply the packaging, or carry yours where it already meets the standard.
- How is the cold chain evidenced? Temperature is logged continuously during transport against the range agreed for your specimen type. The record is issued with the delivery documentation and retained, so it can be produced for a compliance review or an audit later.
- Can you run recurring collections and clinic circuits? Yes. Alongside urgent STAT collections we run standing schedules — routine lab runs, daily hospital pickups and fixed clinic circuits — set around your laboratory cut-off times, with the same crew wherever the roster allows.
- Who actually carries the samples? Medically trained crews drawn from the same rosters that staff our ambulance operations. We do not subcontract sample runs to general courier companies. For sites that need a clinician stationed permanently rather than visiting, see corporate & onsite medical.
- Do you handle chain-of-custody sensitive material? Yes. Custody is recorded at collection and again at handover to the named receiving contact, and the movement is coordinated as a single tracked job. Where your protocol requires additional custody documentation, we build it into the scope before the first run.
- How do we set up an account? Talk to our operations team. We scope the sites, specimen types, temperature requirements and schedule with you, then come back with a written proposal — after which STAT collections run through dispatch and scheduled routes run automatically.
